Hi, I am a grade 10 boy who's going into grade 11 next semester. I am a Canadian, and as I look back at my school grades in grade 10... well it's not that good to get into the Ivy's. Right now, I am getting 89.7% for my gr.10 average (I do not know how to convert it into gpa) and I still have to do the SAT. I was in the school's varsity basketball team (although I am quitting next year, due to too much stress from school) and I also throw discus in track and field. I have over 200 hours of community service hours and I also went to kenya this spring with an organization called "Free the Children" to help people who are in needs. Furthermore, I am pretty passionate about arts, so I am currently creating portfolios for the universities. How can I improve my chance of getting into this university?
Thnx.

hey, i used to be an averageasiangirl living in Canada :), now averageasiangirl living in Korea. I guess I’m basically in the same situation as you, because i’m in gr.10 and haven’t done any standarized testing other than the ACT D:
But I strongly recommend you get your research done soon.
Which field are you thinking? Study some SAT II’s and APs, and you might want to pull up your grades from 80’s to the 90’s.
Oh, and varsity basketball sounds like a good extracurricular to talk about during admissions, why quit?
