Is There Such A Thing As A Dream Safety?

Consider Colgate

penn state university park is my safety (got in already), and i really wouldnt mind going there, loved it when i visited

Q: Is There Such A Thing As A Dream Safety?
A: Yes.

If you fall in love with a school that is easy to get into, it's a dream safety. For example, my friend just got into his no. 1 choice. He applied ED to a tiny school (west coast) w/ a 92% acceptance rate for ED applicants. There's nowhere he'd rather go, making this school a dream safety.

Oh, i used to live in state college, pa ckmets!! What did you think of the school? Since 2001, i think they made of lot of campus changes, but the library really is awesome :)

It was my second favorite out of the schools I visited, which included
Duke (my favorite, i applied ED)
MIT
Harvard
Brown
Cornell
Hopkins
BC but just driving through
and PSU

What are your interests, ckmets?? did you meet mr. shreiber (he used to be a professor when i was there)?

CCers are horrible at reccomending safeties? Colgate? Bucknell? Trinity? Brandeis?!! (That last one deserved two exclamation points!)

Don't lie to the girl. If she needs a safety, I don't want her to sleep on her pillow with Colgate as her safety only to get waitlisted.
As a match/safety, I would suggest Lewis & Clark College in Portland

Now safeties for you. If I were you, my dream safety with your stats would be:
[ul]
[] University of San Diego (beautiful)
[] Loyola College in Maryland (gorgeous, gorgeous!)
[] University of San Francisco
[] Willamette University (Salem, OR)
[li] University of Puget Sound (this school is just so pretty & peaceful, it's scary, quaintest city in America, wasn't the Truman Show filmed in Tacoma?)[/li][/ul]

Anyways, one of those five schools is bound to be a fitting safety for you, if not, I would always be fine settling with UC-Santa Cruz, I love UC-Santa Cruz, damn, why'd I move to Boston, my public univ. options suck like...)

Yeah, Brandeis and Colgate may be a reach, not a safety, but consider Hollins U.

Cre8tive1 - Lol, thank you for your concern about Colgate!

i didnt meet any professors while i was there since i didnt have that much time

im interested in chemistry, physics, and meteorology (which i know they are top 3 in)

colgate can be a safety, but not to someone with only above average stats

If you major in chemistry, then you're probably going to get Mr. Runt (if he's still there), ckmets.

He's an awesome teacher!!

Oh, I certainly agree in dream safeties. Santa Clara was my safety, and I prefer that school far above the other schools on my list like USC. USD is supposed to be a pretty lovely campus and it's a safety for you.

thesettlingsounds - I agree with Santa Clara (in fact, I live just a couple of miles away from the school); and I'll be sure to look into USD.

Miami University (Ohio)
-its public, but you wouldn't think so
-you wil get your monies worth on this one
-over 1/3 the students are from out of state (actually a good number from CA)
-very strong academically
-one of the prettiest campuses in the country, with lots of green quads
-Cincinnati is fairly close

I would consider it a match/safety in regards to your stats.
www.muohio.edu

I would say look at U of Tulsa. Also U of Santa Clara and Rhodes College.

I would check out Villanova U outside Phila., Loyola in MD (already mentioned) and Marist College in NY. All are in nice areas, near to urban.

why does it have to be private?

definitely look into allegheny. you would get in, and although it's a small LAC, it's known for the sciences.
