Is there such a thing in MIT like the Extension School of Harvard?

<p>I am graduate student from France, currently living in Boston, and I would like to know if (like the title says) Is there such a thing in MIT like the Extension School of Harvard? </p>

<p>I mean can I take a course at MIT (not audit) and get the same advantages the Extension School gives?</p>

<p>There is no extension school, but you can apply to be a special student and take one or two classes, without having to be accepted to a degree program.</p>
