transfer students? I want to transfer to an IVY as a junior, but im trying to find one that does NOT look at anything from high school. So far, Yale and Columbia do. Daningt!

They all look, but how much weight they place on it will vary from person to person. In my case, I was a terrible high school student, but I spent four years in the military before going to college. After two years I applied to transfer into some great schools. I got accepted into every single one. Admissions looks at each application in the appropriate context. They want to know who you are today, not who you were in highschool. That said, obviously if you’re trying to transfer your sophomore year, that high school experience is far more recent, and more weight will be placed upon that record.

They all look at your high school record, but your college record is more important if you apply as a college sophomore.

they all look. i had a decently bad gpa (not ivy material, a 3.4) at a really competitive HS. i then improved my grades to a 3.8 at my university and got accepted to cornell. and cornell is really transfer friendly. so check them out!

also, i am a jr transfer so they look at hs record less…

If you are not proud of your high school record, you should explain why the record is the way it is. If you have a valid reason, then they may look past it, however. I don’t know any college (Ivy or not) that does not require a high school record.
