Is this a common practice from the admissions office?

My daughter is very enthusiastic about her application to Temple. She felt it was a great fit for her, and we agree. She got a phone call from someone in the admissions office a couple of weeks ago telling her that they were still waiting for transcript information from her high school. Admittedly the school didn't send the information until last week.

I may be naive, but for a school like Temple, which gets 17,000 applications, are they really making phone calls to prospective students letting them know that their high school hasn't sent information yet? Is that common? She has also applied to a number of small liberal arts colleges, where you might expect such personal attention, but their communications have been more routine, email, snail mail, etc.

Should we be reading anything into this?

I guess it doesn’t matter. She just got accepted! She is thrilled.
