Okay so school was paid for through financial aid and outside scholarships. A week before school the outside scholarship that I'd won 5 months before was retracted without reason except for the fact that I'm attending an out of state school although my current school is the one I used to apply for the scholarship (yes it's as crazy as it sounds. I'm currently battling their office as we speak) the problem is this scholarship was meant to cover the rest of my tuition which I now don't have. How do I approach the financial aid office about this. I'm currently freaking because I was set and now without a valid excuse it was taken away.

Did the financial aid office reduce your financial aid because of the outside scholarships that you received?

Did the organization give you in writing that they were rescinding the scholarship?

What was the basis of the scholarship (was it to be used for an in-state school)?

AS far as school is concerned, you either have to pay (come up with the short fall) or not attend. The college does not care who pays them, as long as they get paid. They are not going to wait for you to straighten out your situation with your outside scholarship
