Is this a good schedule?

So Junior year is starting to come to an end and I am starting to plan out my schedule for next year. At my school we have to choose between Journalism (a two semester class), Current events or Spanish 3 honors. We also have to make a choice between forensics, physics, and anatomy (all honors). Between these classes I am leaning most towards taking forensics and journalism. I also go to an early college so here are my plans for the college classes that I have so far.
Summer: (all online)
Bio 111
Bus 110
Semester one: (Some online some face to face)
Bio 112
Bus 115
Spa 111
Eng 231 (Required)
Semester two: (Some online some face to face)
Chm 131
Acc 120
Spa 112
Bus 137
Eng 242 (Required)
This is the first year that I am given a lot of freedom with classes that I get to take. Because of this I have been really stressed with choosing good classes that show I am well rounded for university admissions, while also meeting all high school and college graduation requirements. I just wanted to run this by here and see if anyone had any recommendations for if I should switch some stuff up.

At the college, are “Spa 111” and “Spa 112” the first two Spanish courses? Or are they more advanced Spanish courses?

It would not be useful to take Spanish at both the high school and college at the same time. If you are completing Spanish 2 in high school now, then it is best to take either Spanish 3 in high school or (for a more faster pace) the college Spanish course that covers material starting where high school Spanish 2 ends (which may be a more advanced course than the beginner course).

For science, it is best to have all three of biology, chemistry, and physics before high school graduation. They do not necessarily all have to be at the advanced / AP / college level. So physics is probably the best choice of the science options.

What about math, history & social studies, or art courses?

Thank you for the quick reply! Math classes wise I have already taken mat 1-3 on the high school level as well as precalculus and statistics at the college level. History and social studies the only high school option I would have would be current events (I have already taken world history, civics, and American history one and two). I could take a western civilizations college class if you think that would work? To answerer your questions about Spanish they are the first two levels I can take yes, but from what I have been told they would take past the high school Spanish 3 option, which is why I choose to take them and journalism instead of Spanish 3.

Find out from the college whether completing high school Spanish 2 will place you into the second college Spanish course instead of the first one, so that you do not have to waste a semester repeating what you already know.

Looks like you already have lots of history and social studies courses, but feel free to take more that interest you.

For math, you may want to take calculus.

Agree with calculus. Most colleges want you to take this no matter what your major is. Good to get it over with and, if you like math, you will be able to start at the next level in college.

Are you taking Spanish in high school AND college? Or would you take 111 at the college after taking Spanish 1&2 in HS?

Have you taken bio, chem, and physics at any level?

What majors are you thinking of and what type fo colleges?

Not sure if it varies by college but for my 11th daughter who is doing a dual enrollment Spanish class at the moment, she took High school honors Spanish 1 and 2 and is now in intermediate Spanish 1 at college which right in the college info says for students who have completed two years of high school Spanish or elementary 1 and 2 college level.

I am sorry for not responding sooner. In the list I have above I would be taking High school and college Spanish. The reason I would do that is because it meets some requirements for college graduation and a lot of the time to major what I want to (Clinical psychology) it is required. I have taken highschool honors bio and chem, but no physics.

Unfortunately at my school it appears like I can not skip over the elementary spanish courses into the intermediate ones, even through a test out.

Wouldn’t the college Spanish courses count toward your HS graduation requirements? Talk with the HS Spanish teacher.

Note that College 111-112 usually covers Level 1-3 in HS Spanish, or at a minimum Levels 1-2 in HS Spanish. So, if you take College Spanish 111-112+211 you’d cover all “entrance” foreign language requirements and most “high school graduation” +“college graduation” foreign language requirements.

You can take HS Physics senior year.

Yes, do take the Western Civilization college course for the Social Science/History requirement; other possibilities would include Psychology, Economics, Anthropology, Comparative Government…

Business classes are just electives. If you intend to major in business, you need to take calculus, micro economics, and macro economics rather than Business classes. Accounting at a CC may not transfer, check with the universities you’d be applying to.

I just realized the way I worded that last message to you. I would not be taking HS and college spanish at the same time. I took spanish 1 last year and spanish 2 this year. I would have a choice to take spanish 3 honors but with the two college Spanish’s I feel like it would be useless.

Okay that means a lot thank you for the help!

OK!!! I get it.
See with the college’s Spanish Dept. Typically, there’ll be a placement test or sometimes they just see you took Hs Level 1 and 2 and will place you directly into Spanish 112 without having you take 111. That allows you to take 112 then the College Intermediate Spanish class, and complete the sequence for any college in just 2 semesters.

Yeah I know my school is just really funky all the way around the board. If you still have time, since I am not taking Spanish 3 which of Journalism or Current events do you think would look better? My current events class is just a regular current events class but Journalism is weird. 6 of the kids are chosen to work on the students news, and the others work on the yearbook. There’s no real teaching going on it’s very much like a club. but shows up on our transcript like a class. Do you think colleges would care which of the two I take?

No, they wouldn’t, so just pick whichever one you’d rather take! I think you said Journalism, so go for it
