Is this an excellent extracurricular activity?

I think this activity combines my academic/career interests with a leadership position. I am the event chair of my city's Relay For Life event (a 24 hour camp out to raise money for the American Cancer Society). This means that I plan the event as the leader of a committee of community members and high school students. What makes this impressive, I think, is that we raised 50,000 dollars for the American Cancer Society in a mere 24 hours. I have won a fairly prestigious community service award for my involvement in this event as its leader.

I am hoping to study biology and continue on to medical school to study oncology. Do you think that this extra curricular is excellent in that it encompasses my passions, gives me leadership experience, and demonstrates community involvement? I am looking for a pivot for my application, and I truly think this could be it.

My first choice school is Rice University. Along with an excellent gpa, high scores, and of course other EC activities, do I have a shot? Would you please make suggestions for ACT score goals?
