I was looking at the course registrar, trying to decide what courses to take next year and came upon this in a political science class:

Section Enroll 5 Section Cap No Cap
Total Enroll 15 Total Cap 15

Does anyone know the difference between section/total cap? Based on this information,is this class already full????????

If you look in the bar above this section information–on the right hand side across from the course name & number, there is a STATUS box that will tell if the section or course is open or closed.

Section enroll= 5 (5 students have enrolled in this section)
Section cap=no cap (no limit on the number of student who can enroll in this section)
Total enrolled=15 (15 students have already enrolled in this class)
Total Cap = 15 (counting all sections of this class, only 15 students may enroll)

Assuming you copied this correctly, it appears that the class has filled, although this particular section has not. (Generally this happens when a course is cross-listed with another department [has another call number] or has multiple sections.)
