Is this considered a big mistake to colleges?

I submitted my common app to a lot of schools, and I was sure my essay was flawless. However, when I copied it into the common app, it changed all the em dashes "--" to regular dashes "-" for some reason. An example is that it changed "everyone had a niche—a skill or passion" into "everyone had a niche-a skill or passion." I scanned the essay too quickly before submitting it and missed this error. I'm really, really worried that this will have an effect on my admissions, especially because I put so much time and effort into my essay. Should I be freaking out??

No, you’re fine. It’s not like admissions officers are going through your essay with a red pen. If you didn’t see it when you read over it, chances are that they won’t either.
