My gpa is kinda going downhill this semester, by 0.05, so my rank is probably dropping a couple places. However, it’s been rough because my grandfather died in February, which brought back my anxiety and made it really hard to keep my grades up. I’ve been worrying about this and talked to my friend, but she said that since everybody’s grandpa dies, college admissions people will just think I’m using it as an excuse. Should I omit it entirely? Thanks for reading, it would be great if you gave me your opinion.
A decrease by 0.05 isn’t that big of a deal…
I think your friend is correct. Everyone has some issue at some time in high school. If it was a major event, have your guidance counselor mention it.
I would omit it. It sounds like an excuse and a GPA drop of .05 is not material to your application.
Agree with others.
