Is this okay?

do most people fill in the part of the applications that ask you to fill in the other colleges you plan to apply to? Is there any way they can check to see which other schools you are applying to? b/c I think it would be a great advantage to just not put any other schools...

There's no way for them to check. But your college counselor may tell them and odds are your interviewer will ask.

I doubt they have the time to do that. But, to weigh in on only what I did: Use relative tier, for the "lower" (arg, hate using us news, but for lack of better term) ones I included some others, thought it would show that I care about them in the same way, and for the uppers I basically left stuff blank...just what I did, beware though cuz sometimes they may assume you're not going to go depending on what you put....

as you see it never ends, imo. True though about the interviews, watch out for that.

Or, just forget the strategic minutiae (no one knows anyway) and hope for the best. Good luck!

do admissions offices often call and ask your counselor what schools you are applying to? I would think they would have better things to fill up their time with...

They do not.
