Okay. I really want to take a few AP classes to have on my transcript. The problem is that either

A. My school doesn't offer the class.
or B. Scheduling issues.

I want to take the class, but NOT the exam. Is there any way to do this? I especially want AP Psych and AP English Lit.

If I were to take it online, I would have to take the exam (school policy).

If it is possible, how would I go about adding AP classes to my homeschool transcript?

You can’t title a class as “AP” without permission from college board. Without the actual tests (to prove you knew the info), why would you want the class? It seems to me that AP classes without the tests would be a red flag for college admissions for anyone who isn’t a senior. If you’re a senior and don’t want the credit, just study the books yourself. You’d have the info. Otherwise, it seems more of a ploy to pad the transcript. (Whether it is or not isn’t relevant. It’s how it would seem.)

Take the classes at a community college.

@GeekMom63: I am, but it’s REALLY expensive.

Why not take a class online through an organization besides your school? Say, PA Homeschoolers, U of Missouri, or any of the dozens of online schools that offer AP classes. They can’t force you to take the exam. BTW, why wouldn’t you want to take the exam? Yes, it’s $87 so I can see not wanting to spend the money (but maybe you’d qualify for a fee waiver?) but hey, if you do well, you can get credit as many colleges.

I don’t qualify for a fee waiver and it’s written in district policy that if you’re in a class (even online) you’re taking the exam.
They’ll pull your diploma if you refuse to pay for it.
