Is this schedule rigorous enough for senior year?

My counselor just emailed to tell me that I can’t take ap physics since it interferes with another class I have to take. My schedule now is this:

First semester:
AP lit
AP enviro
AP human geo
AP Econ
An advanced math class (post-calc and stat)
Art (have to get my art credit)
Class for a school publication I’m on
Research class

Second semester:
Ap lit
Ap enviro
Ap human geo
A fun applied math class
Art
School publication
A fun science elective (not a hard science)
For some reason my counselor has me down for one fewer class this semester… Which is what most students take

I think this schedule lines up well with my interests in development, but I’m worried I’ll look like I’m slacking, since enviro/human geo are considered the easiest APs and I’m not taking that many other challenging classes- and since i have to take several more laid back classes (art, newspaper). My courseloads for the last 3 years have definitely been harder, and I don’t want colleges to think that I am not challenging myself this year. (FYI I am applying to selective schools.)

Any advice? Thank you!

depends on your school. If it is common for everybody to take as many AP classes as you, then your schedule is average. If you take the hardest classes (or top 10% hardest classes) in your school, you will marked “most rigorous” on your transcript, and it will look good and help you. Your school seems very different in terms of course structure, so from an outside perspective (someone on CC who doesn’t go to your school,) your schedule will look different and not really measurable…compare yourself with the people at your school, not people around the world!
