is this schedule rigorous enough junior year?

I want to go to Princeton and I am taking these classes junior year:

AP Environmental Science
AP Bio
AP Calculus
AP Lang
soccer/soccer (a class at my school)
Austin Community College US History

Then in the Spring, I am switching to AP Government from ACC History.

Should I add AP Gov or is 5 APs enough to get me into Princeton?

There is no magic formula for getting into Princeton. 5 APs vs. 4 will not be the difference between acceptance and rejection. If you can handle another AP without tanking your GPA, do so.

Also, have you reached level 4 or AP in your foreign language?

“is 5 APs enough to get me into Princeton”. Horrible mindset (although I probably had the same mindset). If this is your mindset, you won’t get into Princeton (sorry to put it to you bluntly). My question is, do you enjoy the 5 classes? Don’t take courses just for the sake of taking it, take courses that you are interested in. Then, do ECs outside of class on the thing you love. This is what Princeton want to see. Taking rigorous classes are necessary only to show that you can handle the college work, but as you know, many people could. If you want to get into Princeton, you need to set yourself apart from others with ECs.

I have a question that I have observed the Ivies constantly asking: What are your ECs like? Yes, having a good GPA and a smattering of AP classes will look good. But, while it’s cliche, the Ivies are looking for students who have great potential outside of the classroom: the Gates and Obamas of the world. They’re looking for the guy who cured cancer or stopped a civil war so they can slap you on the front page of their website and brag to the Harvard admissions reps over lunch, “this is the guy who chose us over you”. You’ll have to somehow distinguish yourself from the other 4.0 GPA whiz kids applying.

And on the subject of these APs, what is it you want to do after college? It’s okay if you don’t have a definite answer, but colleges like to see that the APs you took are tangentially related to what you’re going to study. I took only three APs, a number that made the Cornell rep I talked to shrink back in horror. But what matters to them is that you SUCCEEDED in those classes.
