Is this too much...?

I'm currently a senior in high school...
And I'm taking 6 AP classes this year...
And it's the first day of school today...
I feel extremely stressed...
It's not cos of all those classes...
They are not that hard as I thought...
But just the tons of homework...
Should I just try my best or should I just drop some of them?
Please give me some advice...
Thx a lot~!!

Which AP's? Are they all with a teacher or are some independent study?

They are

AP Psycology
AP Calculus BC
AP Literature&Composition
AP Chemistry
AP Biology Double Period

They are all w/ teachers...
And every single one of them is giving a whole bunch of work...
I spent 6 hrs doing all those work today and I only got to finish half of them...

I would definitely drop one just so you have extra time to do homework since most of those classes, the hw is not going to stop. If you drop psych and self study a couple weeks before the exam maybe you can get a study hall to work on homework for your other classes.

thats kinda like me:
ap chem
ap bio
ap calc bc
ap envio sci
ap us history

i maybe will self study
ap chinese
ap econ micro
ap econ macro

so far, the only class that takes like 2 hours is bio

btw jane, you only posted 5 of the 6 aps. whats the other one?

literature and comp are seperate i believe

I would recommend dropping the AP Psychology, as it is considered a " soft" AP. What is most important is how well you do in your classes, and 4-5 AP's is PLENTY of AP's for a senior.

If I were you, I'd master the art of self-Studying right now.
Drop all the subjects you can't possibly teach yourself. For example, maybe you can't imagine teaching yourself Calculus, but you can easily teach yourself Psychology, Biology and Literature and Language. Drop Psychology, Biology, Literature and Language and teach those to yourself. It should take you less than half the amount of time to learn those subjects by self-studying than it would by being in the class.

Then your schedule will be easy to handle, because you are learning more efficiently, and still earning the same amount of AP credit.

wow, i envy those of you who self-study for aps...that's pretty crazy.

OP, i would suggest giving it some more time, see if you can get used to it after about a week. i would definitely recommend talking to your GC about it. but 6 hrs of homework on the first night is insane.

To AznN3rd:
that's cos ap bio's double period class...
which means double everything...=(
i'm gonna take ap chinese too...
since i do speak chinese i think it'll be much easier...=D
thx and good luck to both of us~

To indicaclan,
nope...
ap lit&comp counts as one class period...
which means a lot of work too...
sigh

To obsessedAndre,
u r sooo smart~!!
but the bad thing is that all counselors in my school tells every senior to have a FULL schedule...
which means i have to get 2 classes to replaces them...
and since every teacher's giving out assignments like crazy this yr...
i think it won't make much difference...
so yeah...
sigh...

It's senior year you should be having fun and chilling out...so do hw, but remember also enjoy life

what, jane: if bio is a double period, isnt there only one Ap bio test? so wouldnt that be one ap? or are e and m seperate this year?

i think she just meant six classes of ap at school, not six ap tests.

yeahhh andrea was rite.
i mean i have 6 periods of ap classes at school.
and since biology is double period.
there's double of homework...=(
but i think there's only one ap bio test though.
