Is this true about International Applicants?

Lots of people tell me that when adcoms evaluate an application for an international student, they look at how many people they have admitted/how many people applied from that country? Is this true?

Also, does anyone have an idea of what the population of Middle Eastern students is at top 10 colleges? Population of international students from G.C.C countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, etc.)?

thanks!

Yes it’s true. They usualy have a fixed number of seats for internationals from a particular country although colleges do not say this.

Yes, it’s true…they don’t want all of their int’l students coming from just a few countries. They want diversity…spread across the globe.

Would you say that some colleges have agreements or understandings with small private and elite schools?

How much of a number would you put on the population of international students from Saudi Arabia/UAE/Kuwait at top 10/Ivy League colleges?

What SAT scores do they look for from that region of the world?
