I was wondering if Tulane is “need blind” and what everyone’s experiences are to that end… I know some other schools (like GW) are “need aware” and if you opt not to seek need-based aid, your chances are slightly higher. I don’t need financial aid and have only ever been offered like 2,500 in Work Study before… So, with Tulane are my chances slightly higher if I don’t check that box?
Well, it says the process for awarding merit scholarships is need-blind, so I would think that would imply that all of admissions is need-blind. I know it always has been, but I am not seeing a specific reference that states as such when I search for it. I will keep looking and if I find something I will post it, but I would check the box anyway. If you don’t require need-based aid you wouldn’t get it anyway, and they do specifically state, as I say, that they award merit scholarships on a blind basis. So you will still get that if your stats are at that level.
