is usc a good engineering name for graduate school?

For MS degree from industrial engineering dept. I don't have the grades to get into berkeley or northwestern or other big names. Let me know if the time investment would be worthwhile

Sure it would. It’s not MIT but it’s not East Boondock U either. I don’t see Any downside to doing it. UCLA is also in the area and would be something to consider as well.

Since I dive into systems engineering often, I am familiar with that area of I.E. and can tell you that USC’s Systems Engineering graduate program is highly regarded. I also know that companies like Boeing and Lockheed have relationships/agreements with USC to have their engineers obtain Masters degrees using the USC Engineering Distance Education program.

Like Boneh3ad mentioned, UCLA is good also. UCLA may give just a more generic-sounding “MS in Engineering” but with a Top-5 program in Applied Math and a Top-15 program in Computer Science to draw upon, it is strong also.

For a Master’s in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, consider also Cal Poly Pomona and San Luis Obispo

I think that name’s already taken by a school in Los Angeles. You’ll have to think of another name for your graduate school. Sorry. :(

(But seriously… USC and UCLA would both be very good.)

I’m at USC for their M.S. Petroleum Engineering program.

LOL Aibarr that was really funny. hahaha!
