i think it might depend on your major a little...

but i second that xtimx. except, i prefer hot guys over hot chicks.

and don't forget the awesome night life.

well i love it cause it's close to hollywood :] i mean film school isn't film school if it isn't close to hollywood ;]

first choice!

...but it really comes down to money though :/

same reasons as scarletstar^

USC has a reputation and therefore can attract the most resources and best guest speakers. Spike Lee just did some big thing at the school...

I loved USC when I visited it. If I get into the Bac/MD program, I'm already there. The NMF Pres scholarship is also a nice touch.
Other than that, I'm really just waiting for Yale to reject me...heh. Heh. :( Then it's my first choice. d:

USC is my 2nd choice. Right behind Pomona and right in front of Claremont McKenna and Swarthmore.

first choice! and don't forget the desert. riding the dunes is so much fun. and ahhhhh santa monica and 3rd street promenade! i want to take my first date from usc to 3rd street promenade and it will be magical. gosh dating in college. it's gonna feel so weird. no car, no parents, no money, no rules. such conflicting emotions.

ahh i want to go to usc because then i'll get to bring my car. :(

what area are you from, postalxservice? everyone i've spoken to recommends leaving your car at home for at least the first semester. it's expensive and takes you away from all the on campus activities that are so important to meeting new people.

it's funny because my parents were dead set against it before I got in. They even encouraged me not to apply because they said it's Stanford or full scholarship at some other California school or else no CA for you. But now it's at the top of their list (because of the NMF Pres. scholarship, and Stanford was a no-go). I'm waiting to hear back from Penn and Cornell which would be the ones I'd decide between. I am visiting USC in April, which will def. be a big deciding factor if I get into one of the two ivies. If I don't, then I'm guessing, 'SC it is! :)

It was my first choice, only choice for a LONG time. But then I got to know my backup schools better, and I was okay with the idea of going to one of those in case I didn't get accepted. Luckily I did, and now I get to follow my dreams at my dream school!

yea my first choice. its a tie between usc and penn but usc is more realistic so im hopin!!!

2nd choice because of costs

Even if I don't get into Marshall, USC is my first choice by far...

If I don't get in I'll probably have to go to the University of Arizona... which would be kind of unfortunate...

Where else did you apply?

U of Arizona (in)
U of Washington (in)
USC
UCLA
UC-Berkeley
UC-Santa Barbara
UC-San Diego
Loyola Marymount (in)
Boston U
NYU
Northwestern
UPenn
Princeton
Vanderbilt

I don't think I'll get into many of the places though... hopefully USC though!!!!

Those are some good schools dude, even if you dont get into USC youve got alot to fall back on

I got into LMU too!

kind of in order of preference from most desirable to least

Stanford (definitely my #1 choice)
Princeton (if by some random secretarial error I actually get the fat envelope)
USC
Georgetown
Claremont McKenna
Johns Hopkins
UCSD
UCLA
Cal State Long Beach (in)
UCI (in)
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (in)

Since the top part is filled mostly with reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally long shots, I'll tell you what I tell everyone who asks me where I want to go: "I'll be happy if I could just get into USC." Seriously. I'll be ecstatic. Everything else would just be icing on the cake. :)

I reallllly want to go to USC

USC was pretty far down on my list until I visited a few days ago and had the best time ever. It's so beautiful and perfect! Now I'm already having a really hard time deciding what to do and I've only heard from 5/11 of my schools, but USC is definitely high high up there!
