Hello! I am currently a homeschooled high school student, and are trying to figure out what I want to do as a career. Ever since I was little I’ve loved animals. I know I want to do something with animals, and wildlife biology seems like a good fit. Eventually, I would like to live in FL and work in/with the everglades. I would like to do some type of wildlife biology/conservation thing, but I’m not 100% its the right choice. Originally, I was looking into UF, as they had this major, but it’s really hard to get into, especially as a homeschooler (they make you take a whole bunch of extra SAT subject tests). I stumbled upon Colorado State, and it seems to be a pretty good school, and much easier to get into.
I guess my questions are these:
-
Would it be possible to work in the everglades as a wildlife biologist/something similar?
-
Is Colorado a good school for this major?
-
CSU has an online masters, and I think it’d be worth pursuing. What are your thoughts?
-
I’d like to live somewhere permanently. By this, I mean after college I don’t want to be constantly gone and away from home. Is this possible if working at a Nat. Park?
-
Would I be more likely to be employed if I got my degree from UF instead of CSU or is there no difference?
Thank you!
