Issues with Graduating on Time

Hey there, so I’m basically at odds about what to do. I guess I should start from the beginning.

It began early this summer when a summer course I needed to graduate on time started. About a month and a half ago, I had a discussion with the professor of that course to see if it was feasible to take this course while also attending a paid internship in another state that was granted to me. He said this was fine as long as I help post process data from my group’s work. So fast forward to June, I get an email on the second class day from my professor urging me to drop out of summer ENTIRELY because he deemed it not feasible any more. Mind you, I already was awarded financial aid and now I have to pay back the aid and loans in full IMMEDIATELY. So then my next plan was to take these junior lab courses in the fall ALONG with Senior Capstone. I talked to my advisor and he notifies me that there might be a way the department could waive the prereq requirement for the course however my low GPA (2.48 yes I know it’s abysmal for a biomedical engineering student) So I talk to the dean, the department chair and they all directed me back to my advisor. I tried to go above my advisor because he refused to help me send the petition to our curriculum board at all. After being persistent he finally lets me write up a proposal and petition. It was denied unfortunately and now my graduation is delayed an entire year, 2020 instead of 2019, so now I’m still trying to concoct ways to take this Capstone course regardless of the board’s decision.

In short, I was wondering if you guys had any advice for me on how I can fight this and graduate on time. I’m tenacious as hell and I’m determined. My last idea was to ask the professor of the Capstone class himself to enroll me in the course despite the schedule conflict and the prereq conflict.

Might as well discuss your situation with the capstone professor to see what he or she says.
