It is not obvious how to send PMs to a poster whose profile is hidden.
Since the profile is hidden, you cannot go to any of it, including sending PMs.
You can still click on their avatar and then click the message button there. Alternatively, you can reply to one of their posts as a PM
You can’t see the profile but you CAN send messages.
Find a post of that person. Hit the reply button (to that post).
On the left, his avatar will appear with a little arrow next to it. Hit that arrow and you will get the choice to reply as a message.
You can just also go to your own account, click the envelope for PMs, start a new message, and enter the handle of the person you want to PM.
