The dorms dont have hand towel rings in the bath or kitchen. This over the cabinet door hand towel holder or a similar one from Lowes or Home Depot, etc. works well.

Both of these work well for transporting plastic storage boxes and cases of water bottles. You can usually find them at Lowes (even in pink), Sams Club, or Costco.

Thanks, Bamagirls! The links are especially helpful. I like the adjustable towel rack - did you find there’s enough clearance at the top and bottom of the dorm room doors to accommodate it? I’ve had problems with over-the-door stuff in the past because of lack of clearance.

Yes, it will work on the bedroom door, bathroom door, and front or back of the closet doors in the dorms. D had a couple of them and the worked and packed really well. They have a different type of clamp than most of the ones we found and they fasten to the top and the bottom of the doors easily.

are great to pack clothes in if you are driving (not flying) made getting stuff from packed to put away a snap.

packing for the drive in boxes from the liquor store is great because the boxes are fairly small and they are also slightly different sizes so you can nest them to store them. also gets some interesting comments upon move in and out. :)

If you can, find a lightweight hooded foldable waterproof jacket that can be kept folded in the student’s backpack…along with micro umbrella. When a downpour suddenly appears and a student still has to walk to class, it can make a difference between being soaked or not.

Even if it’s not raining, if it’s windy or even just suddenly cold, a lightweight jacket can offer protection.

So, something that one of our computer kids needs to do-
develop a campus only GPS app that shows you where you are on campus, and how to get where you need to be. I love the Alabama google app, but find the map hard to use on the phone.

Malani- we have not tried that alarm clock…we have the sonic boom that also shakes the bed and the one that jumps off the table and runs across the floor. We do not have the wrist one. Must buy for my son, and maybe a few of his friends!! LOL

It’s always best to zap them when they’re out on date night like shown in this picture here. Those auburn cheerleaders will do anything for a drink.

I have been trying to make a list of items my D will need so I can start stocking up as slip in as Christmas and Birthday gifts… the wrist alarm clock just jumped to the top of the list.

Wel, let’s hope that you never need this but make an Emergency Box: flashlights or battery lantern, batteries, non-perishable food such as energy bars and peanut butter, water, emergency cash, first aid kit, tool kit…you get the idea. This list can be added to by including an emergency weather radio or extra cellphone battery (kept charged) or other items that you think might be needed. This can all be easily stored in a plastic bin either under the bed or in the closet.

Aw…the poor thing is naked. Guess even she didn’t want to wear that gawd-awful orange and blue “rugby style striped” sweater the rest of her squad wears.

Bamagirls, I can’t get the 3 drawer cart from Target to show up. It keeps saying oops. Does anyone know what kind of storage drawers you can put in the cabinet next to the shower in Ridgecrest West. I really wanted to get into RCW while we are at Bama Bound. It would have been so nice if they had 1 model dorm open in each type of housing. The Ridgecrest South model suite is great, but not all that helpful if you are living in Ridgecrest, Lakeside, or Riverside even though the lady doing the housing presentation said they were all similar.
