Ithaca, Lehigh or URoch?

I’ve been accepted to Ithaca College, Lehigh University, and the University of Rochester. I can’t decide which one I want to go to. I’m most likely going to be a psych major but I do want to explore other fields. I would like to be involved with multiple clubs on campus and would like a diverse community. Any suggestions?

Have you been to the schools?

You have probably decided, @ZenithOfNotus, but here is my two cents. I am not sure how much this matters, but University of Rochester is accredited by the American Psychological Association - on the one hand, this is only for the PhD program - this could mean that undergraduate classes are taught by doctoral students. You might want to ask the schools who teaches undergraduates. UoR might have more opportunities, given that they have the doctoral program. On the other hand, Lehigh and Ithaca both offer either a B.A. or a B.S. - if you want to explore other fields, you may want the B.A., as you will have a little more leeway. I do know that Ithaca has a lot of clubs on campus, and has some diversity.

One big item to consider: if you are well off financially, this probably doesn’t matter. Flights out of Ithaca are fairly expensive, as are the hotel rooms during major events. (Move in day, family weekend, etc.) You can hire a shuttle to Syracuse, which is about $50+, and fly out of there. Rochester has an airport nearby UoR. There is also an Amtrak train which will take you to Boston or to NYC, or further west. I know that Ithaca and Rochester Institute of Technology both have outside companies offer bus shuttles to places, Newton outside of Boston is one of them, during vacation periods.

Best of luck deciding!
