Yeah, Barnard will be getting quite a few applicants from my school this year too. In the past it's been 0 - 2 per year, but I think around 4 girls from my school are applying. Thankfully all of them are doing so RD! : )

35?! Wow, that's a really small class! I think mine is about 400 students. Do you know if people have applied to Barnard from your school in the past and gotten in? In the past five years, 8 people from my school applied and 1 was accepted and enrolled. Hm...

Yeah, I go to one of those remarkably small schools. It's 7-12 and there are 220-ish. It wouldn't work for a lot of people, but I love it. I'm ready to get out into something bigger, though.

I don't know how many have applied - not that many at all though. I'm friends with a girl who graduated a few years ago who's now sophomore or junior at Barnard (she deferred for a year to travel to Israel). She adores it.

I don't think I even have a class with less than 35 people!

Mine are all about 50 or so!

I doubt the number of applicants from one school makes a difference. I think they're looking for diversity of personalities, not geographic diversity.

My school actually has a good track record with Barnard (RD acceptance rate is around 50% according to Naviance), so hopefully that bodes well for me despite the multiple people applying ED. Generally about 10 people a year apply RD (out of a class of 500).

I don't think the number of applicants from a specific school makes a huge difference (especially ED and at a school concerned with yield like Barnard), but I do think it could have some impact.

I REALLY hope I don't have anything major due in the few days after the 15th. If I don't get in, I'm sure I'll be really distracted for a few days and won't feel much like working.

That's terrible timing, sweetetcetera...I hope it all works out for you.

baehrr, guess what I did? I scheduled an interview for another school on the 14th.:p I'm thinking of canceling...I don't think it would be such a great situation.:D

haha oh man, an interview?! i think i've scheduled a ben and jerry's festival on my couch in front of a good movie (at least i WISH!)...no I'll probably be at some school leader thing or a rehearsal. ugh, i want to have a touch of senioritis!

I strongly suggest you all find something big to occupy your time that week (sounds like most of you already have that under control!). I know a ran up to my d's HS when her big envelope came and interrupted a rehearsal to give it to her. I just could not stand it!!! :) Because she was so busy, though, she was doing better than I was at that point....

A Ben and Jerry's festival sounds good...though it would be a pretty painful wait! I'm glad I'm going to be home late all of that week. I won't have time to obsess, maybe won't even be the one to get the mail...

Argh. see all THESE weeks are my like "busy weeks" . deadlines are all over before dec 15th. so that weekend and stuff is like...my no strings attached free time. but i've taken up a hobby of counting cards to occupy my time. It's actually really good because it gets my mind off it

Yes, I totally know how you feel. But at the same time, I know in my heart that I have worked extremely hard over these past four years (and more, really). I did the best that I possibly could, and if Barnard doesn't see that, then I wasn't meant to go there. I just keep reminding myself that everything happens for a reason (no matter how much it hurts or stinks sometimes), and there are TONS of opportunities for ladies like us!!! Just have some faith and everything in the end will be okay!

ya okay that's not how i feel.
I have really good chances at Georgetown, Harvard, and USC because of mega legacies and certain large donations....
But I would turn them all down any day for Barnard.
if i don't get in, i'll be......upset to say the least.
