Any other ED girls?

Ugh! my App just went out. Anyone else applying early?

Congrats on getting your ED app out! I am excited for you and can't wait to hear about all of the others...

I am too! Just finished my essays this weekend and am hoping to send out my application within the next week or so (once I've proofread them a few more times).

Good luck to everyone else applying ED! Hoping to see all of you at Barnard in the fall!

I must add, I'm already ready for the wait to be over and I haven't even sent my application. Just think, we'll know in just about 2 months...kind of a surreal feeling.

I'm applying ED as well :)

I'm really thinking about it. I'm visiting and interviewing again soon, and then re-evaluating. Good luck to you girls!

I am still revising my essay, so I haven't sent in my app yet. But I'm definitely applying early. I interviewed last week. Good luck ladies!

is anyone else sending a portfolio? I know at Brown they ask for an Art teacher to include a letter regarding your work, but I haven't heard anything about it at Barnard. So if anyone knows, let me know!

"Ugh! my App just went out."

Why ugh?

because now it's all about waiting.

It's only 2 months! (I know, not much reassurance, I'm already ready for it to be December!)

I knowwww. In the meantime i have all my IB stuff due. =[
I'm so nervous. It's crazy. I'm competing with two other girls from my school, one of which is a ballerina and the other a cellist.

I have all of my other college essays to write...at least it will be a distraction.:( I know I'm going to be so depressed if I get rejected...

I'm sure you have special things about you as well, just make them stand out in your app.:) I don't think I'm competing with anyone else from my school (possibly one other girl)...but it's still so stressful.

Yes to ED :) almost done with the supplement and waiting on my recs. Still have to retake the SATs in November, ugh :/ but that's the final installment to my app...

this decision was arrived at after so much agony. I am so relieved to finally be sure. :) Good luck to all of you.

Letitbe: I was considering sending in a photography portfolio, but I don't think I'll have the time.

Is it supposed to greatly affect admission chances?

Same, belle. I decided against it because I don't have the time. I don't think it's supposed to affect changes much, many schools even say there's a good chance no one will look at it.

Hmm. Well I don't think it affects it greatly, but I can assure you Barnard will see it. I had about an hour long chat with admissions about this over the phone the other day.

If you send in actual prints, they will def. see it because it will be in your dossier that they print out (including test scores, common app, letters of recommendations, essays, grades etc) and put together.

If you send in a CD, it won't be in that file, it'll be in some filing cabinet somewhere.

But I doubt it will do much for your application, I just sent mine because I take IB Visual Art so I had to show something!

ooo Is anyone else doing full IB diploma? i feel alone! =[

Wow, you sent it out already? It doesn't matter how soon you send it as long as it's postmarked by November 15, right? Ah, I'm excited and at the same time so nervous!

Do you know if the admissions people look at supplementary letters of rec?

yes, they do, they're encouraged... I was at Barnard today for my interview, so I got a lot of admits. information :)
