Wow, I was going to post my library when I got home from work, but yours are all so neat that now I’m feeling inadequate! I love books and will admit I do like the look of organizing by color. Yes it’s dumb and it’s made it quite a bit harder for all of us to find what we’re looking for, but it is soothing and high school aged visitors have commented positively. I do a lot of public library, though, and some Kindle mixed in, too. we “inherited” a lot of books when we happened to be the last nephew/niece living in the same state as an aunt/uncle who was moving from the childhood home of my spouse’s family (all the sibling college books had been dumped there) and I’ve found some gems to read, as well as some gems for kids to cut up for pictures for school projects (books would have been in trash anyways).
I finally finished all the teeny books for my miniature house - this will be my reading nook. Note the tablet reader on the chair! I already had the tiny china kitten and she fits perfectly.
And this is my trashy romance bookcase (not all trashy; there’s a set of Jane Austen. Also every Georgette Heyer.) the books are stacked double deep. I donated as many paperbacks as I kept when we moved, mainly to the library for their book sales. That’s where most of them came from anyway.
The paint by number was my first year pandemic project.
We had built-in bookcases in our old house, but we never replaced them when we moved. Sadly, most of our books are still boxed up. Instead, I’ll share my favorite bookstore haunt where I have happily spent many long lunch breaks.
For a moment, I thought this was your home!!! Beautiful and inviting looking anyway!
I wish!
I thought it was your house at first too and wondered if you lived in a library!! Nice look.
Same here! I was ready to invite myself over for coffee and book reading in your gorgeous book space.
What a warm, delightful bookstore!
