IUB vs USA

It might be simple but not that much...
So, please share with us: where would you go?

IUB (Germany) vs. LAC (USA) --> confused

hhhmmm... what's LAC?

Diana, this truly is a complicated choice to make. But can you tell us what the LAC is?

LAC is a liberal arts college :)

I know what a LAC is since I am going to attend one this fall:)
I just wanted to know the name of the college to which you were referring, because if you share with us the name of the college in question, more people would be able to respond.

Anyway, what exactly do you want from your college years? I believe that in a LAC you'd have more options to explore; you'll declare your major in your sophomore year, and besides, you'll study for 4 years, instead of the 3 compressed ones in IUB. Also, for a humanities person, IUB doesn't have that much to offer - ISS, Psychology, Arts and Literature, and the newly introduced major in International Politics and History. If any of those choices suits you, that's great:) But otherwise, you should think twice...

Also, which is the better financial option for you, if financing your education is an issue?

Keep me updated:)

Vessy

I agree, vesselina - I don't think we can speak in absolutes here. IUB is deffinitely better than some LACs, I think, but that is from my point of view. From the same point of view, some other LACs are better than IUB. So, would the OP be so kind as to name the LAC?!

Yes, no one should generalize:)

Bogororo, I see you are heading for Amherst this fall. If that is the case, we will be neighbours since I am going to attend Smith College;)

vessy, I was talking to DanC1986 :)
and, as far as I remember, wasn't IUB your first choice? congrats on your acceptance at Smith, btw :)

Thanks:)

Sorry for the misconception:)

And you are right, for some time I was seriously thinking about studying in IUB, but then things got a little complicated...I would not elaborate on that. I still believe that IUB is a wonderful university, but it is not for everyone (of course, there isn't a university that would suit everyone's preferences:)

So, what is the us college that makes you choose between it and IUB?

Hi, vesselina - I'm looking forward to meeting you at Smith or Amherst or anywhere else. The 5 College Consortium is a great thing!

I'm looking forward to that as well:)
