I got in! not enough merit aid, but I'm happy I got in.

Thus far on this board, i've not seen anyone get crazy good aid. :(. I think i'll hear back tomorrow...and i hope it will be good news. can you guys who got in post status please??? i'M SO NERVOUS

In response to EMP:

I do not know what you consider to be good aid but I received about 6,500 a semester in Gettysburg Grants (not including Presidential Scholarship). This grant money is their FA money from the school. My parents make well over $100,000 a year and including all assets (401k, savings, house, cars, other financial jargon, etc) are "multi-millionaires". I consider this to be very generous aid.

As for status, do you mean credentials?

Wow, you're right novaswim, thats great aid!!! It gives me hope if I do get in tomorrow haha.
Sorry, typo, I meant stats. As in SAT/ACT, GPA, ect to get an idea for myself. thanks for your help!

EMP:

Correction: I just checked and it was 6,000 in aid, not 6,500, but about the same and equally generous.

SAT: 1380/1600
2000/2400 **I am an awful on-the-spot writer. Much better with scientific/analytical writing.
Act: 30 **does not include writing

GPA's differ too much to use this as a prediction.

Decent EC's, but nothing major.
I did interview with the school, I do not know how much this helps in admissions process.

Okay thanks so much for the information, really appreciate it!! Yeah, I interviewed as well...hopefully that helps haha. Congrats again, is Gettysburg a top choice for you, novaswim?

It is one of 3 I have narrowed my decision down to.

You aren't international, right? If so, your stats are good enough for some of the more prestigious colleges.

No, I am not international.

Why Gettysburg? I think your stats are good enough for a top 20 LAC - if you believe in rankings, that is.

Well, the competition in the international application pool may be a lot fiercer than you thought.

I just got my letter.
I think the whole town heard my scream hahaa. And I got the founders scholarship (7,000) plus a fairly large grant so yeah, very good aid.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, you made it!!! Let's hope that BB012 also does.

Thanks theGame, I'm so excited. With Aid, I may just actually be able to afford gonig haha. Yeah i'm crossing my fingers for BB012!!!

Will meet then. Decided any majors - yet?

hha yes! Um, I want to DM in History and Political science and minor in civil war era studies, yourself?

Thank God I found someone taking three different subjects! I am interested in taking Economics and Psychology as a DM with French as a minor (yes, it is possible lol) :)

Yay, thats great. So, where are you from?
I was actually looking into French as a minor as well but I don't think i'll be versed well enough in it by September :).

theGame:

I don't think you cannot believe in ranking because they are there, no matter how much a person may disagree with them. However, I would never apply to a school based on ranking but how well I thought I could spend four years there.

I did not apply to any LACs except Gettysburg because I am pretty sure I want to study engineering, which LACs do not offer (Gettysburg included).

^ Lafayette does. But that's an exception I suppose. lol
