<p>I am sure that the waitlists for HPYS, Brown and Dartmouth are very fluid. From what I can see, most people who apply to one of them, also apply to the others schools. The same student will be accepted very likely to a few of the ivies and they will have to call from their waitlists then. </p>
<p>To be honest, I have become really interested in the schools that have sent me likely letters. ( my ego is telling me: "they want you..they want you"! ) If I get wait listed for Yale.... and later accepted, I am not quiet sure at this point if I would go. I think my problem is that I really do not care with such an intensity like I have seen here, which school I go to. </p>

<p>^same. Being deferred made a big difference in my attitude. My feelings toward Yale cooled significantly, and I am less starry-eyed about other schools in general too.</p>
<p>Anyway, a waitlist isn't much different from a rejection. Only a couple kids get off the waitlist every year at these schools.</p>
