Hi! I applied to a lot of reputable liberal arts colleges as well as a few Ivies. Say hypothetically I got into Cornell and one of the more competitive LACs like Amherst. Job-wise would I regret choosing an LAC over an Ivy? Cornell on a job app can definitely get an applicant's foot in the door, but I'd personally be much happier at Amherst. The value of education is pretty much the same. Graduate schools know this, but not all employers might... Opinions? I know a girl who chose Georgetown over Yale, but Georgetown is more well-known than most LACs

If you get into a top LAC and feel you’d be happier there then you should go. I don’t think it would hurt you at all in the job market.

Both schools are so selective that a decision may likely be made for you. I know it’s really difficult, but just hold on and wait the couple weeks. You don’t want to be convinced one is better and not have the option of going there.

Although Amherst may not be that well known among the general public, employers know what an exceptional school it is. So pick the school you feel fits you better and that you’ll enjoy; you will definitely not be at any disadvantage when it comes to job prospects.
