Good luck to y’all who applied to ivies!
@belle12 I know exactly what you mean by playing out acceptances or rejections!! lol
@soccerlover678 I mean some people might it’s a little childish but also super fun so I’m not even mad. I’m glad someone can relate hahahaha. @asianfang hey U Chicago is easily way more selective than many of the ivies, not to mention they all have different geographic quotas and things they’re looking for so don’t worry! Plus, everyone knows those U Chicago essay topics are brutal haha. Hang in there.
@asianfang “After Uchicago rejection, it’s really hard to think about getting into ivies… This year has really been brutal.”
Chicago tends to look for different things than the Ivies. They especially tend to put more of a premium on test scores. There are plenty of Ivy students who were rejected from Chicago and vice versa.
Hang in there. Good luck!
Applied to 5, Columbia, UPenn, Harvard, Yale, and Princeton.
I expect to be summarily rejected from all.
@Anonymoose3 We meet again :))
I also think about what order to open the letters…I’m planning on opening the HYPs last. Or maybe not…idk! I’d rather open an acceptance first than a rejection. I don’t want to ugly-cry and have snot dribbling from my nose as my parents film me opening letters.
@Grapess your parents are filming you?
I have school until 8.00 on March 31st, but I have a break from 3.30 - 5.30. I don’t know if I can resist the temptation to find an enclave and open up my decisions before my next commitments. Then again I don’t want to cry in class. Decisions, decisions…
@Anonymoose3 Kinda to preserve the moment. I filmed my sister while she opened her Brown acceptance letter. It’s kind of fun watching them again – the reaction, the ugly crying, the screams of joy. It brings me happiness :3
School until 8? What? Blasphemy! Why? You will most definitely get accepted…dude you were literally accepted by so many schools already. But which order do u plan on opening them?
@Grapess I might film myself, but man - my reactions so far have been nonexistent. I don’t know if there’ll be anything to film.
Yeah, the school until 8 sucks. And it is faaar from a sure thing. I think I’ll be summarily rejected by most of them.
I haven’t decided the order yet. If anyone has any good ideas, feel free to post them lol.
Accepted to Cornell and Williams so far. Really scared about Ivy Day though…
13 days!
@Anonymoose3 Hahaha are you one of those calm people who look like they can’t give a **** about anything :))
Did you apply to all the Ivies? I’m sure most of 'em will accept you.
Waitlist at ND and MIT. Waiting on 6 ivy + Duke and Stanford.
Rejected so far by Northwestern, WUSTL, JHU
Waitlisted Uchicago
Admitted Northeastern Honors
Applied to all ivy except Harvard. Didn’t submit a peer recommendation for Dartmouth though so that’s an immediate rejection…
Supernervous
Hey guys!
I applied to HYP, Brown and Columbia as well as Duke (likely letter!), Georgetown, Middlebury (accepted!) and Stanford.
I’m so nervous! I’ve been prowling college confidential all day.
I’m going to be at track when decisions come out. I’ll probably be in the bathroom crying for the rest of practice haha
What are you guys goings to be doing when you find out? I tried filming my reaction to Middlebury but, like @Anonymoose3, my reaction wasn’t too impressive. :))
I applied to Dartmouth, Cornell, Columbia, and Brown! I know that it’s required to do IDOCS for Ivys but Brown hasn’t requested any of my IDOCS while the other 3 have. Is it safe to assume Brown will reject me?
I got accepted into Princeton and Cornell already, but I don’t know what to expect from the other Ivies. Hoping it’s good news!
At what time do decisions come out on April 1st? Are they all at the same time?
@Princetonian2020 Congratulations on getting into Princeton! How did you find out so early? I’m guessing a likely letter…?
@Much2learn @belle12 Thanks for support! After a couple days, I realized that 1) UChicago is not the school for me at all (I would be really unhappy there) and that 2) Now that I have realistic expectations, I’m able to go through the day more easily. I can’t believe how much time I was spending agonizing over ivy decisions before I got rejected. And if I do get shut out, there’s always grad school
