not a significant amount? to me, $5,000 is significant

ur under classman meal plan really depends on if u eat breakfast or not but without breakfast it was about 3400/3500 while most eating clubs are about 4900-5100 so its a difference of around 1.5k

Oh i see...that's not too bad i guess..

but still it adds to the cost

Apparently they're pushing eating clubs to offer more fin. aid to its members. That = good things for people like you and me, enco.

Tower or Ivy, here I come! Tower used to be so hot in my mind, but after reading The Rule of Four...maybe Ivy's not so bad :) I'd never considered the cost before; whatever it is, I'll scrap and scrimp to pay for it. After all, it's one of the big things that makes Princeton Princeton.

haha, the thing is phil, i don't need financial aid

it's just that my parents said they won't pay any extra for eating clubs

and i don't work so, heh...

haha do work study! whoo!!!!1

booo @ working

yeah, i guess i should do that

but not a job that requires a lot of work

But if your parents won't pay, it sounds like you might need it. And that's okay :)

Work-study rules! NOT.

one of the work-study things is giving those campus tours! apparently its really hard to get that job tho :(

yeah it's really hard to get a job as a tourguide. everyone wants to do it at princeton since they love their school so much

yea but i guess if u apply early and know a lotta about princeton then ur set =P

Man, I want to be an Orange Key tour guide sooo badly. I'm gonna be ready come January when the audition/selection process begins...

phil we can quiz each other and study to become tour guides whooo!!!!!!

Haha, that would be way cool. My tour sucked, so it inspired me. But yeah, major prep sessions will be in order, and we will rock as the Supreme Emperors of the Orange Key 2006.

Righteous.

being a tour guide would rock.

Eating clubs cost anywhere from 1k to 6k more than a dining hall contract (about 4k). Because Princeton doesn't want to leave poor students out, they will apply the financial aid you get for your dining contract towards your eating club contract if you do choose to join a club. Thus, many of the people I know who are on financial aid have had no problem joining a club.

so an eating club can cost up to 10k? wow

I believe that the Orange Key tour guides are volunteers, so you'll have to look elsewhere for a paying job...

But it's a fun job. And that's all that matters :)

yea phil we cant get paid for orange key tours but there are special tours that u can get paid for

the most expensive eating club is ivy at about 6,700 bucks the cheapest is campus at about 4000ish. most of them are around 5000-5500 with of course a few exceptions. the princeton people are pushing the eating clubs to give out financial aid so it should help out those who need it and wont exclude those that cant afford it =P
