Ivy Interviews

I applied to Harvard, Princeton and Yale. For one of those colleges, I was invited to a regular interview (ie at a coffee shop). For the other two, I was invited to "interview fairs" at local high schools. I have interviewed with a number of non-Ivy schools, and I have never heard of an interview fair.

Can anyone share their experience with an interview fair? Does it mean that a college is more interested in you if they invite you to a regular interview, rather than an interview fair?

Thanks.

(Side note: the two with interview fairs in my city are hosting them on the same day.)

No it doesn’t. That’s just what the local alumni council has decided works best. It varies city by city.

At these sessions, they gather many volunteer interviewers and all the local applicants. Then, usually in a panel of 2 or 3 alumni, each kid gets interviewed. Like I said, it varies and there’s no set protocol.
