Oh, okay I see what you mean. I forgot that AP does not send out scores until July. haha.

Just to clarify, you aren’t treating him as a fake just because he is a Christian or apparently a conservative, right?

Think of this. If he is a ■■■■■, which I think is still quite a possibility, who does he affect? Nobody.

If he is real, he still doesn’t affect anybody. It’s only between the colleges and him.

For now, I’m going to treat you as real, but if you give me any other reason to doubt… ■■■■■!

Actually, come to think of it, I hope you are a ■■■■■, because I just realized that you would be in my class (2012)…

And the APs are a good point… Any explanation?

I think this is a ■■■■■… But if not, you can get in anywhere. Harvard, Princeton, etc. I’m pretty positive of that.

Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! :)

I think this person is probably legit. A private school in CA would be able to offer this kind of schedule. In fact there are at least a couple, if not several, private schools in CA that offer this many APs.

While everyone else calls ■■■■■ I’ll say this is a real person. You’re definitely in at some of the Ivy’s. Even though your SATs aren’t 2300+ your EC’s and APs (I think) put you at an advantage.

Do you know if your guidance counselor will have any of the admission reps visit your school? And what schools have other kids that are ranked similar to you gotten in to?

Mmm, no offence, but if you aren’t a ■■■■■ (which, hey, whatever), even accomplishing a lot of these things won’t help you. Many schools (read: Top schools + Ivies) have expressed interest in people who aren’t the perfect well rounded student, best at everything, etc. Your captainship in everything, leadership in everything shows someone likely stretched thin and with very little authority. It probably diminishes your achievements more than augments them. Furthermore, I don’t see any real direction? What do you want to do?!

Ivy League schools will see this and I almost guarantee they won’t care. APs to them are nice, but they’re not the end all. They want someone with a true passion and direction - commitment to that direction.

So if you’re not a ■■■■■, I’m sorry you’ve done so much work so far. You really shouldn’t’ve. It makes you look ridiculous. And no offence, but if you actually had something like this with real groups that you had to administer, then you would have absolutely NO life. I mean, it’s either “That’s really impressive with 0 socialness” or “Most of this stuff is BS, but at least he has a life.” Shrug

Best of luck, and I’m sorry, but I’m tilting towards ■■■■■.

Why do we think you’re a ■■■■■? Let’s see here…

~You’ve taken 26 AP classes, when the usual overachiever does about half as much.
~You play 6 sports, and are varsity captain for 4 of them.
~You have ten random ECs, of which you hold an officer position in 8.
~You play 3 instruments, and are distinguished in each.
~You are an eagle scout. That’s no small time commitment.
~You have 550 volunteer hours at animal shelters and hospitals. Cliche.
~You somehow landed a paid position at a Real Estate firm. As a sophomore.

Either you’re 5 different people, know how to travel through time warps, or attend a school that has 15 clubs and 11 students. Otherwise, you are stretched too thin to be a normal human. I call ■■■■■.

This officially wins my award for the most ridiculous thread I’ve ever seen on CC. The fact that the OP is trying to pass it off as fact is even more ridiculous. As others have already pointed out, four years of English are required at virtually all the high schools my family and I have looked at so far – and having lived in and traveled to many different places, we have looked at a LOT of schools, both public and private. In fact, I’m a private school kid myself (all 3 of the high schools I’ll have attended by graduation are private), and all 3 of them required 4 years of English. It’s pretty much a rule. Additionally, as a student athlete and having many friends who have played on school teams, sports are an ENORMOUS time commitment, thus making your claim that you play 6 different sports (and hold varsity captain positions as an underclassman!) completely BS. If your school offered that many AP’s, I’m assuming it also has a substantial student population there to take so many, and thus more competition for positions on sports teams. Besides, at least for all the high school teams I’ve seen (and I’ve seen a lot of them too), captains of sports teams are elected based on seniority.

Then there’s also the post above mine made by PioneerJones, who’s pretty much summarized the opening post and exposed its ludicrousness. But before I leave I just want to highlight this one thing:

As a high school sophomore? In this dismal economic state? Puh-leeze. Give me a break.

Idk about your school but at mine you can only do one sport per season, also. For instance if you do something like tennis and track that will conflict so, you can only choose 1 a season. How are you doing 6 sports in a year?

haha, best ■■■■■ chance thread ever…unless if you’re superhuman.

good job.

Hum… what if this guy has gone to a charder school.
A lack of English classes and APs everywhere could be only APs in name.
In my city we have to watch out for shady charter schools like the plague.

I’m sorry kid but this is obviously not enough for an Ivy league school…

Have you considered a career in plumbing? They tell me the postal office pays well too!!!

A 2140 SAT after scoring 5s on AP Calc AB, Calc BC, English Lang and English Lit by the end of Sophomore year? That’s unfortunate.

He was too busy balancing his commitments of air guitar, Christian Philosophers Club, and varsity track and field to prep for the SAT. Duh.

even if this is real, you havent shown us that you’re an interesting person. most colleges aren’t interested in robots

Just because you’re a member of the “Young Republicans Club”, I’d say you wouldn’t get into any ivy’s. JK.

You’ll get into an ivy for sure. And if I ever do, I’d like to debate you…

How do people come up with this stuff? And why do they even bother?

This is a beautiful ■■■■■ post.

I’m not sure if it’s a ■■■■■. His ECs may have very limited requirements in terms of how often they have to meet. Colleges probably admit self proclaimed republicans because they don’t want to be considered “liberally biased”. Of course, he seems like a BJU kind of guy
