I would like information on transfering into M.I.T, Caltech, Cambridge, or State University in Nw York, i juss started community collage with a major in science and i am going into a university when i have enough credits and all the right classes for my major, which will be a study of Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, and Astrophysics, and i believe that these universies are the best for these areas. so if anybody has any good information or advice on a successful transfer and things I schould focus on, please comment, also if you know of any other good schools please let me know.

you’ll have to pick one of these areas of interest after you transfer. each is a specialized field whose study is dependent upon the generalized courses you’re taking at community college.

are you an international student?

OP: none of the schools you listed are in the ivy athletic conference. University of Cambridge is in Great Britain.

no i am a im from the U.S

@thatboyRahrah why did you go to community college?

i took 2 years off from school and when i tried to apply to colleges they told me my credits would not transfer, also i need a little refresher before i just jumped into the univesity life

What were your scores (ACT and or SAT)

thats another thing i didnt take either in highschool i was not focused and i didnt think i wanted to go to college but after those 2 years i made the chocice that i wanted to go back and get serious about my career, so I plan on taking the SAT next year

Most of the schools you listed seems little far fetched (nome are Ivy League either btw) but you should probably look at more reasonable schools

why far fetched do you think?

Because the schools you listed are very very selective with transfer applicants
MIT had 454 applicants and only 25 were admitted and I can guarantee you just about all of those 454 applicants were top notch
Cal Tech had 214 transfer applicants and they admitted 5

I hear ya, all of what you have said i have read from there admissions pages, and i never said i was a bad student or couldent do the work, school was just something i didnt think i would want to do it but now i have decided to go through with college, im still going to try

I’m not saying you shouldn’t try just have a safe back up plan

i always do

Also I would try and take classes in cc to explore other potential majors because I see a month ago you wanted to go to med school and now you wanna study astrophysics.

I did switch, and i could switch againut i have it narrowed down to Engineering/physics or medicine either way i know i want a career in science

SUNY is a public college system. There are many universities within the SUNY system (i.e. SUNY- Geneseo, SUNY Binghamton, SUNY. Stony Brook). Those are all separate universities under one system.
