Ivy Leaguers -- how many APs did you take in junior year?

I’m planning to take:

for Junior year

AP Lit
AP Calc BC
*AP Euro
AP Bio
IB Spanish A1 HL Y1
Normal class
Normal class
Free

What I’m worried about:

IS AP EURO HARDER/EASIER THAN APUSH? Cuz I have APUSH right now, and I’m getting an A, but it’s hard getting an A in APUSH, and it’s only one AP.

Is it safe to say that IB = 2 APs, meaning that IB 2 years (which is the certificate) = 4 APs? Or at least 3 APs?

The thing is, I want to know if I’m taking “too much” or “too little” for what ivy leagues want.

The above. is my interest. It’s what I want. But my counselor says no. So I want to see where I am, and if I’m “overdoing” it, then I’m going to take Euro off and replace it with a non-AP or “light” AP.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I’m desperate.

The main difference between APUSH and AP Euro is the DBQ. There are DBQs on both, but the APUSH DBQs require a student to input more outside information whereas the Euro DBQ is more focused on working with and manipulating the documents provided.

This sucks. I just heard that the teacher for IB spanish HL in our school (A1) absolutely does not give As...

I'll have to work harder :)

MEH (Euro) is deff easier than APUSH, but from what you said, you are already in a semester APUSH thing? (Dunno much about it since at our school it's one full year), if you already took a semester and you have an A, I would recommend you finish APUSH your Junior Year so you can take the AP exam. Completely forget what I just said if that's not the case, haha

Cool! I like that =P

Actually I'm taking APUSH right now as a sophomore (and it's a year too :)), but my counselor is being quite annoying with me taking Euro next year...

I don't know if it's easier or not. I'll ask around -- I really hope it's easier! :)

MEH is deff easier, APUSH is like the hardest AP there is. However all depends on your teacher, so talk to the teachers, ask other upperclassmen. It's really the same as college - choose your classes based on teachers, not the actual class.

Yea! I just realized that today too with IB Spanish. Turns out there's only one teacher teaching my level next year, and he NEVER gives As.

Now I don't know if that's true, but certainly I'm reconsidering the course. This sucks...but it's reality.

Language I like, but impossibility of As (I understand if I have to work for it) is something no one likes.

Would colleges penalize one if they only have one language? English?

You know what I mean by penalize. Not consider you for admissions =P
