<p>Apropos of my earlier post, I think Adcoms ask four questions:</p>
<ol>
<li><p>Is the person academically capable?</p></li>
<li><p>Does the person have talents they will contribute to the community?</p></li>
<li><p>Is this a serious and committed person?</p></li>
<li><p>Is the person deserving? (i.e. will they make the most out of the opportunities we give them?)</p></li>
</ol>
