J-school

Is the J-school at Missouri the best in the country? I here it is...between Missouri and Northwestern.
I was directly admitted into the School of Journalism at MU...but I'm contemplating whether or not I should go.
Any words?

Mizzou has one of the finest j-schools in the US. A journalism degree from Mizzou is highly regarded.

yeah, it is. although everyone here is journalism...well, anyone out of state. Mizzou and Northwestern are two very diff. schools. were else did you get in???

MU's j-school is I think one of the best in the nation...but it's the location that isn't appealing. I haven't visited Columbia, but from what I have read and seen (pictures) it doesn't look too great. MU is kind of out of the picture for me now, even though it has a fantastic j-school.
Besides MU...i got accepted to George Washington, Boston Univ., Arizona State and Syracuse. I've decided to go to Syracuse...double-majoring in Political Science and Broadcast Journalism.

actually Columbia is the quintessential college town...about 26,000 undergrads, lots of live music, etc. but i hear ya. make your own decision. Syracuse is better for broadcast, although i think Columbia is a better town overall.

For me the issue isn't so much the Columbia part as the Missouri part. I'm from Connecticut, and I ultimately decided that I just did not want to be that far away.

Many NU's J-students take second major at NU and one of the differences between NU and UM is at NU, you are with students of high caliber regardless what class you take. The same thing can't be said for UM.
