James Madison Waitlist

Thank you!!! A truly amazing day!!

If you got in off the waitlist, did you get a letter or a call? Or both?

I was emailed but most people are called.

jhs8675—Congrats !!! I hope my son is lucky enough to get that same email or call !!!

My D was accepted off the waitlist today!! She is very excited! Good luck to those still waiting.

I GOT OFF THE WAITLIST!!!

however i was neither called or emailed, i found a big packet in the mail with an acceptance letter.

Oh that is an awesome surprise!

Just curious, to all who got off the JMU waitlist…what states are you from ???

We are from Mass.

We are from MA too. My daughter just finished her Freshman year at JMU and loves it there. Long drive though.

Im from Virginia. I know 3 people from my school who got in off the waitlist this week

im from virginia too

I got the acceptance email today! I’m from California. I won’t be going to JMU though.

My son is still hoping he gets in off the JMU waitlist…I guess at this point it does not look to promising…

Honestly, I think your son should call JMU Office of Adissions and ask to speak directly with his admissions counselor. It really could not hurt- im sure the counselor wont be annoyed. He or she will just know he REALLY wants to attend and I think that is very advantageous! And no, I wouldnt give up hope. Ive been seeing more and more people saying they got off the waitlist in the last few days on the C/o 2014 page on facebook!

Good luck again! But… if it doesnt happen, your son really shouldnt be too bumbed. After visiting last weekend, I do realize that its just another school and that it is gonna be the same old same old work work work but with some fun things to do in my spare time

MJP2558, I personally am in the same boat. I really want to get off the waitlist as well i applied early action got deferred from that and regular decision i go waitlisted. Ive been waiting for months. It also does say a lot of decisions come in June, so theres still hope!

My son has contacted his regional admissions rep. by email and by phone. I guess it is just a waiting game at this point. He also applied EA at JMU, then deferred, then waitlisted. The problem is that like everyone else have a deposit at another school. To complicate things even more he feels he needs to visit that school again to confirm if he really wants to attend. Money is tight and we are trying to be patient so we do not make an unneccesary trip. To say the least my son feels alot of pressure (like others) because JMU has always been his number one choice.

My dad heard word yesterday that the JMU waitlist is now closed
But… maybe something will happen over the summer!

I called the JMU admissions dept., the JMU waitlist is not closed, it is still open for all those still anxiuosly awaiting word.

We received the THIN envelope today saying JMU’s freshman class is full. Thank you all for the thread which gave me a little hope and a lot of sanity. We are starting at a liberal arts college and going to consider transferring next year. May any disappointments turn to silver linings, and congratulations to the new Duuuuukes!
