Jan 2013 SAT Curve

What do you guys think the curves will look like for this test?

I thought the Math was all super easy… I made one mistake >.<;; i hope that doesn’t stop me from getting a 760+. the writing was easy as usual… however, i found the critical reading to be difficult… especially the vocabulary

@jntx3happyface

exactly what i thought!

Although I think I got 2 wrong in math probably 1 wrong in writing. The critical reading was extremely difficult!

The curve won’t be that good though nor would it be harsh im gonna guess avg to harsh but idk if its for the total or per section but for math and writing = harsh and CR= lenient i hope D:

what do you guys think 2 wrong on math would be?

2 wrong in math is about a 750 or 760 ish, but no less than 740

I found the Math moderate (I’m really bad at judging math though), CR harder than usual, and Writing easier than usual.

I thought critical reading was extremely hard. Math was easy. Not much special about Writing. Hopefully there is a big curve for critical reading.

I’m hoping for a lenient CR curve (to mitigate the damage that Writing will do to my score XD)…a lenient Writing curve would be nice too, but it wasn’t that hard…

I think the CR will have a moderate curve, with -1 still being an 800, but math I feel will have a moderate-harsh curve; it wasn’t too difficult IMO. Writing will probably have an average curve.

Even with a harsh curve -1 on CR is almost always an 800. With a moderate curve -2 is usually still an 800, and with a generous curve, -3 can still be an 800.

don’t be too sure, i got -3 on cr in november and got a 740. i suppose that was just an awful test (NO ONE TAKE THE NOVEMBER SAT, just a word of advice). however, im not sure how lenient they’ll be now. i heard the january test was usually one of the easiest, along with june.

Wow is that -3 raw score or 3 wrong?
Either way, that’s a HORRIBLE curve…

@trackandhp
Why do you think specific test dates are easier? Just from the curve beacuse of the people who take the test or the test itself?
But you are right, i took the sunday jan test and it felt a little easier than my practice tests.

it was 3 wrong, -3 would be a pretty bad raw score haha

and to stoness, im not really sure but i’ve heard that collegeboard sets up the curve before the test itself. like based off how difficult they judge the questions on that test to be, they decide that everyone who gets 2 wrong on cr, 1 wrong on math, and 1 wrong on writing will get an 800 section score for this test, and they pick different numbers for other tests. apparently its not influenced by how people do, so everyone can potentially get a 2400. however, the scores are usually evenly distributed because the sample population taking the test at any given time will also be evenly distributed across all levels of ability. i’ll try to find the source of this, im not sure if its 100% right…

its was hard in a semi easy way

=( well that seems a bit unfair. What is they misjudge the curve? then someone who should have gotten a higher score is cheated out of it. They should judge how hard the test was based on the amount people got wrong after the test

it was so typical idk they do the weirdest curves

I thought CR was extremely difficult when I was doing the first CR section(with a lot of unknown vocabulary) but found that other three sections were moderate afterwards… Hopefully the first one was the experimental one.

What do you think I scored for each section

CR: 0 omitted, 0 to 3 wrong(maximum).
Math: 1 omitted, 3 wrong.
Writing: 9 or 10 essay, 0 to 1 wrong.

For Jan 2013, I got 3 wrong in CR and got a 730…I’m really hoping for a good curve this time!!!
