Jd/mpp

anyone know anything about combining a JD with an MPP?

I heard for an MPP work exp is a must but if you apply for a JD/MPP the public policy school would let you get off without work experience?

Are either of the two claims true?

I looked into it as well. Officially speaking, the first claim is true and the second is false. Work experience, at least at the top MPP programs, was almost (or actually) mandatory. Admission to the two programs would be considered separately; the MPP program would not (officially) even know that you were applying for a joint degree.

Whether this is true in practice, I don't know.

One more comment. Generally programs that require work experience do so for a reason: you will be expected to contribute that experience to your class and use it as a foundation for your own eventual education. Your experience will be severely compromised if your program expects work experience and you "somehow" manage to sneak in without it.
