JET Program and Law

Does anyone know if the JET Program (run by the Japanese government, sends Americans to Japan to teach English) will help/hurt for Law School? I think I have the academic credentials to get into a T10-T15 school, but am worried that this might hurt me, as I can't get any recommendations from this program as nobody's English will be good enough to write one.

And more importantly how does it compare to Teach for America, which I also have an offer from…

I know there’s no way to quantify the differences, but any help you could provide would be great!

It would probably be a nice “soft” factor to have. A rec from the program would probably not make a difference anyway. Again GPA/LSAT will be most of the battle. If the program interests you, do it. Law school admissions should not be a consideration, it certainly won’t hurt you.

Your recommendations don’t matter. Do the program if it interests you. All the JET alumni I know adored the experience.
