Jewish Life on Campus - HELP!!

Whoa--
My note posted 3x. Sorry. the website froze when I was sending it. The post must have gone to the CC Bermuda triangle or something!

Yeah, I figured it was Blue Star. I never went there, but a friend of mine did and my cousin always wanted to go there.

Jewish life at Duke is very robust with a very good Jewish Center. Please google "Vanderbilt and Jewish students" for a Wall Street Journal article that is very on point about Vandy's efforts to be much more welcoming to Jewish families for undergrads..there is a new Jewish Center and diversity at Vandy is picking up speed greatly. President Gee is a Mormon. Nashville has a lot of Protestant publishing houses but is a very diverse city on many levels--we have lived there twice.

Charleston's Jewish population is very storied and historic in America. I would not underestimate Charleston for Jewish culture and for every other kind of culture. It is a jewel of a city. I do understand that anti semitic attitudes can be located in the South..Catholics can also be targeted for visits by evangelicals in our experience, but there is a lot to be said in for living in the New South where many transient families are settling.

Gee; Blue Star a gamily place for generations

Lots of good suggestions for southern colleges. Central Fl is becoming very popular. If one can afford it, Stetson and Whitman (?) also gaining. Others are sending kids to Lynn U in Boca; threy are offering merit to attract better studnts.

Stetson is considered an unpopular safety at my daughter's school.

I should say is is because we don't like the surounding area, nothing about the academics. I don't know much about Lynne.

My sister is a Jewish kosher vegatarian at UMD and loves it.
