Got a tough question that needs answering

This is a toughie. I am currently a High School Junior, and I have a wii (I can't stop the wii jokes. sorry. I'll keep them to a minumum) problem. I currently live in Brooklyn, and am seriously considering going away from NYC for College. Now, the thing is that I can only eat certain foods. Oh what the heck: I eat Kosher, and that limits me from 99% of the schools out there. So, what I'm asking is, does any colleges besides Columbia and Cornell that have Kosher caffeterias? Thanks much.

Yeshiva's in NYC and I'm sure they have Kosher options

Wellesley does, I think, in case you are a girl...

Tufts has Kosher food options, and I'm sure Brandeis would have Kosher too.

What is Kosher?

bump.....,

Carnegie Mellon has kosher food options (both on and off campus)

Can't the Hillel website help with this? Go to Hillel.org. Look up a school you are considering. The site will tell you if Kosher food is served and even how many Kosher meals per week. Also, some students opt for a vegetarian diet, if they want to attend a school that does not have Kosher food.

Tue, but a list is more important to me, since I still don't know where I really want to go.

I know that Towson (MD) has Kosher food since I saw a sign for their Kosher Kitchen. Also, someone told me that Suny Bing has Kosher food. That is all I know about it. I would look at schools that you might consider for other reasons, and then check out on the Hillel site as to whether they offer Kosher food. Then decide if you need to scratch it off your list.

GW claims to have Kosher food,I haven't checked it out myself...

Thanks alot. I've been loking into Brandies U, and it seems like a pretty good school. (at least from the description from Princeton Review) A little on the expensive side, but that's where need-based aid comes in.;)

I'm pretty sure the Jewish Life Center at Duke works hard to make sure there are always Kosher options.

At bgsu there's kosher food

http://www.bgsu.edu/studentlife/organizations/hillel/

What's GW?

George Washington U., and it is very expensive.

Yep. Close to 38,000 simoleans a year.:l :(
I guess need-based-aid. (That's almost as much as my parents make combined. Almost.)

George Washington University in Washington, DC. University of Chicago has dorms with kitchens where you can cook. Everyone who eats Kosher is in those, or the apartment dorms. They are good dorms, too, very popular. Other schools may do that, too.

There was a thread recently on the Parents Forum about Jewish life at college that discussed schools with kosher options. Do a search. Boston University's Hillel has a kosher kitchen. We are vegetarian, not strictly kosher, but S ate there the whole week of Passover.

The University of Maryland at College Park has kosher dining.
