Jewish Students at BC

I am looking for any feedback from current Jewish students at BC or parents of current/recent Jewish students. I realize that there is a very small percentage of Jewish students at BC…but what has your experience been? I would appreciate any feedback as my D has been accepted.

My son is a freshman and I’m Jewish but he was not raised religious. He was concerned but religion has not been an issue at all. It’s available if you want, for any religion. Extremely happy with his choice in so many ways!!

One thing about at the Jesuits is that they value education, community service & faith. If that fits with your family’s ideals, BC can be a great education.

Parent of a recent grad here: my Daughter’s advisor and ‘religion’ professor was Jewish. (It was a comparative religion class, so they covered the histories of several faiths.)

And, fwiw, her high school advisor was Jewish and they sent their D to Santa Clara University, another Jesuit school, albeit on the other coast. She reports that her D had a wonderful time at SCU.

BC even has a Hillel, albeit small.

No

Both my son and daughter attended BC. We are Jewish and they felt completely comfortable with the Jesuit education. It was not religious at all. My daughter was a member of the local JWOB program and had Shabbat at the Rabbi’s home often. Both of my kids loved BC!!

Thanks for the input dreambig101
