Job outlook for civil engineers?

<p>Im thinking of majoring in either Civil or Enviornmental engineering. Whats the job outlook? On websites like Collegeboard it says the outlook is good, but i've heard a lot about lay offs. Am I better off going into say Mechanical Engineering? </p>
