Do any current Wes students have suggestions for the best/most desirable on-campus jobs? I'll be doing work study next year and I'd love to get a job that isn't miserable. Thanks!

If you’re just looking for a job to make money, library jobs are definitely the best, because they tend not to be much work, so you can get your own homework done. I have a friend who worked in the music library, and said that was basically as good as it gets since, unlike with the front desk, he’s only have to help 1-2 people a shift. If you want a library job, you should show up as early as possible on the first day and just be like “please?” You’ll probably have to take bad hours for the first semester or year, but after that you move up the ranks and start to get better choices.

However, there are also other options that might actually be cool jobs, depending on your interests. I know one girl who was into costume design who worked in the costume shop; my freshmen year roomate worked in book restoration, which she found really fun. Obviously, these are actual jobs that will take up time, but it’s definitely worth looking through job positing to see if their are jobs that actually relate to your interests.

But, if not, library is where it’s at.

I just want to clarify: all job postings go up on August 1st at the same time, right?
