At this point, I don’t even care if I get rejected. I just want to stop worrying about it.
What might the chances of admittance be for a recruited athlete with a high GPA and middle-of-the-range test scores (middle-of-the-range as far as JHU is concerned, towards the lower end of their middle 50% range), who is applying s a computer science major?
I know you can’t determine practically anything based off of this, but any ballpark answers would be appreciated
@shenanigans1, I think your chances are good. If you have a high gpa with challenging courses and the coach would like to have you there, I think that is all in your favor. Nothing is guaranteed, but I think you have a good shot.
Does anyone know why Johns Hopkins application Status portal has marked my financial aid materials as awaiting and not reviewed?
@Monster1997 I have the same and I called them and they told me it’s not a problem, that it just means they have to review our file again (so I guess they just haven’t seen it yet basically). As @archaeologygirl said you can maybe also call them to make sure if you want.
@Winky1 Thanks for the input, I am taking the most challenging courses and I’m top 1% in my class.
Does it help if someone from my school also played for JHU (and the same sport at that)?
I’m still incredibly nervous.
Thanks! I called them but I haven’t got any answer yet. So let’s see what will happen tomorrow when they announce final decisions. LOL.
@Shenanigans, I think it’s fine if there is an athlete there or who was there, especially if he/she and your high school coach can speak highly of you. What are your thoughts of the interactions that you’ve had with the JHU coach? I think you have a fine shot. Good luck!
@Winky1 I mean he is always positive and enthusiastic when I talk to him, saying things like “I am excited about the possibility of you joining the team,” etc. Good luck to you too! (If you’re waiting on tomorrow’s decision as well that is)
@Shenanigans1, I am waiting for my son’s decision!! He applied for neuroscience or biology.
@rkn0706 ur post killed me and killed the positiveness I had :’( how are the stats for engineering at JHU ?
How are you guys going to celebrate/spend the rest of the day after the results?
@Grapess My Mom said if I get in we’re going out to Cracker Barrell haha. (I also might click my ankles.) I’m not expecting to get in, so if I don’t I’ll just live the rest of my day like usual. (: What about you?
@indigocanine I’m going to spend my Friday packing to go to Boston, so I’ll probably cry the entire time on the flight (it doesn’t matter if I get accepted/rejected. I’ll be crying anyways, lol).
I might also treat myself to some chocolate (once again, for both if i’m accepted/rejected :)) )
Does someone here know if international students have received financial aid at Johns Hopkins in the past?
My portal is empty now! News is on the way haha
Do they release decisions via portal or email? I don’t know what is wrong with my portal, but it looks kinda off…
Mine is the same as before
Mine is the same as well
20.5 hours to go people! That Northwestern rejection was rough but I have a lot of misplaced optimism about Hopkins!
